Making the decision to leave a longtime profession with little to no creative outlet, to me, was a risk worth taking. The ultimate goal was to turn photography from a hobby to a profession. 11 years later, that's exactly what I'm doing as a commercial and documentary photographer in Austin, Texas.
Now, as a senior staff photographer for the Texas House of Representatives, I act as a visual historian at the State Capitol here in Austin. My personal work centers around storytelling; the musician - their following, the craftsman - their work, the pioneer - their journey, the neighbor - their story.
I share moments, capture emotions and work to find the beauty and story in any situation.
